from my window...

Lately there's been a range of weather, from -15˚C (brrrr...) to above 0˚ with fog. A little odd for January I think. One snowy day last week, I snapped these photos
of the rooftops below. I kind of love the eerie haze the fog gave them. That huge tree on the left though, and centered in the pic below... gone. Condo developers cut it down the very next day. I'm glad I took these shots when I did...

Photos: My own, from film.

  1. i'm actually missing the cold at this point. 60 degrees in january is not doing it for me. although, i think my opinion is the minority.

  3. I love seeing snow on the rooftops! It's been an unusually warm winter so far in Tennessee. Who knows what January will have in store.

  4. Amy - Oh man, i'm loving these warmer temperatures, lol... I can go out and take pics without my hands freezing or camera fogging up! lol...

Nadine - Thanks! I know, I wasn't particularly attached that tree, but it was so huge and now it's just a big empty lot. What funny though... there's a group of TONS of black crows that usually hang out in that tree for some reason. The day after it was cut down, they were all swirling around and squawking at 7 am! I don't think they were impressed!

Kendall - Definitely weird weather everywhere! Although I don't mind a milder winter. -15 was coooold.

  7. Such strange weather!!! In Kingston today, it went from a mild, sunny day to a downpour with a red sky & finally a rainbow! It's January in Canada right?! :p

ps: I love the mood in the second shot, that black and white fog reminds me of the movie, Sleepy Hallow. So eerie!

  9. beautiful photos! I'm not sure if my body could handle -15C... it has enough trouble dealing with +15C!
I'm sorry about that beautiful tree, too :(

  12. Gorgeous! I wish we could get some more snow around here already. So far we have only had one light snowfall this year.
