picking pumpkins...

Over the weekend Rick and I picked out some pumpkins at a nearby farm (I have a strict 'no grocery store pumpkins' rule). There were no shiny, perfectly smooth pumpkins in this patch, but rather knobby ones in orange, red, and yellow hues. I kind of like them better that way. We ended up getting a whole bag of white gourds for free as well (the perks of visiting the farm). They're adorable little things that are perfect for window sills, balcony railings... and according the farmer, scooped, stuffed with wild rice, and baked in the oven.

We may have also gone a little overboard with the Halloween decorations. Somehow a fog machine came home with us. All I can say is we better have kids come by our block or it'll be just us, a misty yard, and multiple bags of candy.

On second thought... that might not be so bad.

autumn walk...

The other day I went for a short walk on the trail, listening to the crunch of leaves underfoot. It was one of those days that smells like Spring and Fall at the same time. There's two or three days of the season where you could almost pretend Spring was on it's way instead of Winter – it's just something in the air. But, as we all know, the cooler weather is here to stay and I plan on (hopefully) welcoming it. There's plenty of cozy nights ahead as the light fades earlier and earlier each day...

back into the swing of things...

The past few weeks have been a whirlwind to say the least. Our wedding day was amazing, just as I had pictured it all this time. There were happy tears, joyful faces, laughter, dancing, and moments to remember forever. We truly couldn't have asked for a better day. And to top it all off Antigua was a beautiful. We spent the majority of our time relaxing in the sunshine, pina colada in hand, and cooling off in the turquoise water. It's amazing how fast it all flew by, but i'm excited for the future as Mr. & Mrs. We're all smiles over here!

Thank you for all your well wishes over the past while, they are much appreciated. We have so many photos from our honeymoon it was hard to choose, so I just ended up posting a few to flickr if you'd like to take a peek. I guess we'll be getting back into the swing of things over here...
